Bacon and wine from our own production

The recipe for the home-produced bacon comes from an old family tradition. There is also an in-house vineyard in the immediate vicinity of the hotel.

Delicious Carinthian brand pork

Eduard Rainer, Klaus Rainer's father, lovingly produces our delicately flavored bacon himself .

The basis for the bacon is the Carinthian branded pig. The bacon is produced in the fall and winter when the moon is waning - the old glow, which is very important for the consistency and shelf life!

They produce lean rashers with a tender, nutty layer of fat, a hearty pancetta, a juicy osso collo and also prosciutto, which is only smoked twice and seasoned with fine sea salt and rosemary.

At one or other meal in the restaurant the bacon is hidden in the first-class dishes.

Your own vineyard

Viticulture has been run since 2006 by the Rainer family family themselves. In 2008, the Chardonnay and Pinot Gris grape varieties were finally harvested for the first time. Around 300 bottles of wine and around 20 liters of Carinthian grappa are produced.

Own vineyard

The lovingly tended vineyard was planted and cared for by Klaus Rainer himself, who also looks after the vines and carries out the vinification himself.

The wines are personally processed and labeled by Klaus Rainer in the Alpen Adria Hotel's wine cellar. Both wine and grappa can of course be ordered and enjoyed at the hotel.

The vineyard is situated on a slight slope and faces south, these are the

The best conditions for a rich harvest. The soil is a poor limestone gravel, which forces the plants to root deeply, because only on poor soils can a wine full of character grow. If the soil is too "rich", the vines are only spoiled and the result is a little lax.
