Vacation in the Gailtal.
What would a summer vacation be without swimming in the lake? That's what we thought ... and that's why we built the Alpen Adria Hotel just a few hundred meters from Lake Presseggersee. Okay, of course it wasn't quite like that. And you don't even have to leave our hotel to enjoy a relaxing day of swimming.
The natural jewel of the Gailtal
Lake Pressegg is nestled in Austria's second largest reed belt and in the immediate vicinity of the Alpen Adria Hotel. And so that you can enjoy the crystal-clear water of this natural jewel of the Gailtal Valley for as long as possible, it also has the most hours of sunshine in Carinthia.
This makes Lake Presseggersee one of the warmest swimming lakes in Austria!

New: "Slow Trail" on Lake Presseggersee
As a Carinthia connoisseur, you may have already heard of our "Slow Trails". Slow Trails take vacationers as well as locals on selected, stress-free hikes through the Carinthian lake landscape.
Because those who slow down begin to see, discover the lake from ever new perspectives and take its shimmering waters with them into the forest, where thoughts rest in the green silence.
The Slow Trail around Lake Pressegger See starts at the Hermagor lido. You should allow at least 1.5 hours for the easy, approximately 6-kilometre hike. Our tip: don't set yourself a time limit, but enjoy the relaxing moment of walking amidst the beautiful reed landscape.
